The Campus Pastor鈥檚 Office has released its sixth chapel CD entitled 鈥淐ity of God,鈥 a double-disc compilation of vibrant music. The album鈥檚 title, taken from St. Augustine鈥檚 classic literary work, is based off this year鈥檚 chapel theme.
The first disc, recorded live in chapel, is a diverse sampling of modern worship music performed by the 蜜桃传媒 Worship Team, including contemporary black gospel, modern rock and modern Latin American. There are also several original songs written by Joel Patterson, director of music and worship, and orchestrated by 蜜桃传媒 junior Trevor Welch, including 鈥淓ven There Your Hand Will Guide,鈥 written in response to last year鈥檚 Jesusita Fire.
The second disc, a compilation of orchestral and choral music, includes 鈥淛upiter鈥 from The Planets by Gustav Host, 鈥淎 Tragic Overture鈥 by Johannes Brahms and 鈥淐ome Unto Me,鈥 an original piece by 蜜桃传媒 alumnus Michael Bennett 鈥09.
The artwork for the CD was created by alumnus Taylor Gray 鈥09.
This CD, which is currently available at the 蜜桃传媒 Bookstore and Campus Pastor鈥檚 Office, will be available on iTunes in June 2010. Music from all five previous chapel CDs dating back to 2004 are available for purchase and download through the iTunes Store.
Previous CDs include 鈥淎ll the Saints鈥 from 2009, 鈥淭he Sea Will Resound鈥 from 2008, 鈥淚n the Sanctuary鈥 from 2007, 鈥淏efore All Things鈥 from 2006 and 鈥淭he Love of God鈥 from 2004.
