ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½

Spiritual Life

Chapel is one of the ways the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ community lives out its commitment to Christ first in all things. Three mornings each week, students, faculty and staff gather to worship, hear from diverse Christian voices, pray, learn and make space for God together.

Monday • Wednesday • Friday
10:30–11:20 a.m. | Murchison Gym

Chapel is required for all ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ students. Students are permitted 12 absences each semester, with additional opportunities to receive Chapel credit through approved elective chapels.

What is Chapel?

Chapel is more than a weekly requirement, it's one of the rhythms that brings the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ community together.

We gather to worship, reflect, pray and learn while exploring what it means to follow Jesus in our everyday lives. Because ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ is a diverse Christian community, chapel includes different worship styles, Christian traditions, speakers and perspectives from the Church around the world and throughout history.

Why do we gather?

College is busy. Chapel creates a regular rhythm to pause, reconnect and remember what matters.

At ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½, we believe the life of the mind and the life of the heart and soul belong together. Chapel gives our community space to grow in faith while learning how to love God, one another and the world around us.

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Chapel Mission Statement

Chapel services are an integral part of our regular communal rhythm of worship and word, reminding us to orient our lives around Christ and His kingdom. Loving God and one another is our highest calling, so we worship, reflect, pray, and learn from Him as a community.

Our mission is to connect with God and with one another,

and to be equipped to engage the world with the good news of Jesus Christ.

As a community, we worship with the Church around the world and the Church throughout the ages. We listen to a variety of voices and sing songs and pray prayers written by a diversity of people and Christian traditions.
