Dwight Radcliff, president and CEO of U.S. Veterans Initiative (U.S. VETS), speaks about the effort to break the cycle of homelessness among our veterans Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 7 p.m. in Hieronymus Lounge inside Kerrwood Hall. U.S. VETS is the largest non-profit organization in the country dedicated to helping homeless and at-risk veterans.

Every year U.S. VETS provides housing and clinical counseling, helping more than 1,100 veterans return to full-time employment. 鈥淯.S. VETS aims to foster the skills necessary for every veteran to return to the community, remain self-sufficient, and break the cycle of homelessness,鈥 Radcliff says.

Radcliff says a third of all U.S. homeless men, more than 200,000, are veterans. He will describe the barriers veterans encounter and detail lessons from the Vietnam War.

The lecture is co-sponsored by 蜜桃传媒鈥檚 sociology/anthropology department, the Office of Life Planning, and the Intercultural Programs Office.
