The 蜜桃传媒 jazz band, choir and three combos will perform the best of their work at the Jazz Ensemble Concert, 8 p.m. Nov. 21 in Deane Chapel.
For the first time, professor Ron McCarley is playing lead alto in the 14-member band. This is also the first concert to include a jazz choir. The choir will be directed by music professor Steve Hodson.
鈥淭he concert will include two pieces by Ellington, two by Herbie Hancock and various other pieces鈥� McCarley said. 鈥淭he band, jazz choir and three combos will perform a 鈥渏azz sampler鈥� of pieces from standards to post-be-bop,鈥� McCarley said. Admission is free.
