The Jazz Ensembles, directed by adjunct music professor Ron McCarley, will perform 8 p.m. April 24 in Deane Chapel on 蜜桃传媒鈥檚 lower campus. Admission is free.
The ensembles with perform 鈥淢ove鈥� from 鈥淏irth of the Cool鈥� by Miles Davis; 鈥淲hisper Not鈥�; 鈥淵ardbird Suite鈥�; 鈥淎nthropology鈥�; 鈥淗ere's that Rainy Day,鈥� sung by Alicia Burns; 鈥淢oonlight Serenade,鈥� sung by Sarah Stockton; 鈥淚t Don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing鈥�; 鈥淩ed Clay鈥� and others.
The audience will be treated to a variety of pieces including a big band number and two vocal songs, a transcription by McCarley from the album 鈥淏irth of the Cool,鈥� and three combos.
Solos will be performed by students Brandon Barski, Andy Patterson and Ben Banner.
The Jazz Ensembles will also play at SOhO Restaurant & Music Club, 1221 State St., 7-10 p.m. April 5.
