Weekend performances of 鈥淥n the Edge,鈥 蜜桃传媒鈥檚 Fall Dance Concert,  have been canceled. A free, one-time only showing has been tentatively rescheduled to Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. in Porter Theatre. If you have already purchased a ticket for the weekend and would like a refund, please email bwhitcomb@westmont.edu..

Susan Alexander, adjunct dance professor and the show鈥檚 director, will premiere new work created for her dance performance class. 鈥淭he show opens with a group piece, 鈥楻eally on the Edge,鈥 which pushes the dancers鈥 boundaries and physical capabilities,鈥 Alexander says.

She has also choreographed a quartet, 鈥淕one,鈥 lamenting loss and moving on. Junior Heidi Rosentrater is featured in a solo, 鈥淏ecoming,鈥 which explores change and personal evolution. Melanie Bales, adjunct dance professor, has choreographed a piece in the tradition of the Judson Church Dance Theatre artists of the 1960s in New York.

Several 蜜桃传媒 students have choreographed solo pieces, including senior Brenna Humphrey, sophomores Brittany Fayard and Abigail Pyron, and first-year student Andrea Rice, who has choreographed a group piece for her 蜜桃传媒 debut.

蜜桃传媒 alumni Mackenzie Ellis and Miranda Wittrock return to perform a duet. Wittrock also has a solo, and Ellis presents a piece he created for 13 women he describes as 鈥渁 playful, modern interpretation of the concepts from Bob Fosse, with influences from today鈥檚 established choreographers.鈥
