By
蜜桃传媒
Members of the music faculty at 蜜桃传媒 will present a free recital featuring music from Buxtehude to Debussy on Tuesday, March 20, at 8 p.m. at 蜜桃传媒鈥檚 Porter Theatre.
The program features vocalist Grey Brothers in Dietrich Buxtehude鈥檚 rarely heard cantata, 鈥淗err, nun lasst du deinen Diener.鈥 J.S. Bach once walked 200 miles to hear Buxtehude and was greatly influenced by his compositional style. Claude Debussy鈥檚 鈥淭occata,鈥 a keyboard genre frequently used by Buxtehude, will be performed by pianist Egle Januleviciute. The program will then shift to performances of arias and songs by Mozart, Faure and Dvorak featuring Michael Shasberger and soprano Celeste Tavera. It will close with a performance of Barber鈥檚 Cello Sonata, featuring Nona Pyron, 蜜桃传媒鈥檚 new cello instructor.
