COVID-19: Emergency Relief Fund
Thank You for Coming Alongside Us
Donate to the COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund.
ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ is one of the few colleges or universities in the nation to successfully fully repopulate campus this fall.
To provide for the health, safety and wellbeing of students on campus, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ incurred significant unplanned expenses. This acute need led to an extraordinary response by alumni, parents, faculty, and staff who have donated more than $400,000 since spring to this important effort. If you have already made a gift, thank you! Your gift helps ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ remain open and safe.
Your gifts makes a difference.
ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ is committed to addressing significant new financial needs while continuing in its mission to cultivate thoughtful scholars, grateful servants and faithful leaders.
To make this possible, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ has established the COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund.
We are deeply thankful for the many supporters who helped to unlock the first $50,000 match to the COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund. It makes a huge difference! There is still work to be done.
A donor has pledged $25,000 to match gifts from alumni. Faculty and staff help unlock an additional $20,000 through their participation. Your gift will help ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ meet this unprecedented challenge.
As part of our commitment to provide for the wellbeing of everyone on campus, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ has incurred many unplanned expenses. These are a few of the emerging expenses:
- ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ students were fanned out around the world on academic and service projects. The urgent circumstances involved returning students from overseas programs—quickly.
- A small number of students, such as international students, were most safe remaining on campus. To ensure the wellbeing of students on campus, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ maintains dining hall services, security and medical, including counseling and a physician, among other campus resources.
- In addition to maintaining these on-campus resources, students currently off campus may receive room and board refunds from ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½.
- To ensure that students who depend on Work Study funds to pay expenses, even their tuition, continue to receive funds, the college continues to pay each student for a set number of hours per week.
- To continue education through the semester, ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ built an online college in three days.
- Shifting 1,200 students and their professors to online education increased the need to protect ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ against a significant rise in malicious activity. The cost for essential data protection is a meaningful unplanned expense for the college.
- As students and families face unanticipated financial issues it may pose serious challenges for their success as students. ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ will seek to raise scholarship resources that support the access and affordability of its education.
Your gift of any amount to the COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund will make a difference.
